Join us for a hands-on training session focused on equipping volunteers with the skills and knowledge needed to recognize and effectively remove invasive plant species from our nature preserves. Invasive species pose a significant threat to native ecosystems, and your efforts will play a vital role in preserving the health and biodiversity of Wildlands Conservancy’s preserves.

What to Expect:

  • Learn to Identify Invasive Species: Gain the ability to recognize common invasive plants in the region and understand their impact on native habitats.
  • Hands-On Removal Techniques: Receive practical training on safe and effective methods for removing invasive species, including the tools and strategies most commonly used.
  • Ecological Insights: Learn how invasive species disrupt ecosystems and why their removal is essential for the health of our preserves.
  • Work with Experts: Interact with members of Wildlands Conservancy’s Stewardship team and other volunteers passionate about conservation.

What to Bring:

  • Comfortable outdoor clothing and sturdy, closed-toed shoes
  • Work gloves (if you have them; extras will be available on-site)
  • Water, snacks, and sunscreen
  • A notebook or device if you’d like to take notes during the training

Who Should Attend:

This training is perfect for both new and experienced volunteers eager to contribute to the upkeep of Wildlands Conservancy’s preserves and improve the health of our ecosystems. No prior experience is required—just bring your enthusiasm for making a difference!
