Date: April 5
Time: 1:00 PM
Length: 2.6 miles (2 hours)
GPS: 41.024031, -75.688861
Discover the natural beauty of Hickory Run State Park on a 2.6-mile out-and-back hike that is perfect for all ages. We’ll explore a mix of habitats with minimal elevation change along the Beach, Nature, and Deer Trails. Near the vernal pools on Deer Trail—an old logging road—there’s a chance we’ll spot signs of frogs, toads, or salamanders. Birdwatchers will also enjoy this trail as it offers great birding opportunities.
After the hike, take some time to visit the Visitor Center, which features 2,400 square feet of interactive exhibits highlighting the park’s natural and cultural history.
What to Bring:
- Dress in layers appropriate for the weather
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Binoculars for birdwatching (optional)
- Be prepared for possible wet spots on the trail
Facilities: Restrooms are available at the Visitor Center.
This hike is part of the Get Out! For Wellness series, supported by Lehigh Valley Health Network.
Meeting Location: Hickory Run Visitors Center, Family Camp Road, White Haven, PA 18661
Directions: From I-476, take exit 87 for PA-903 N and follow the signs. We’ll meet in the Visitor Center parking lot.
