Event Overview

Riverview Park just keeps getting better! Thanks to Wildlands’ expanded tree and shrub plantings and a newly installed pollinator garden replacing mowed grass, the park is thriving. Nestled between the Lehigh River and D&L Trail in East Penn Township. For this event, we’ll hike southbound along the D&L Trail and explore the area around the Three Ponds, part of the Lehigh Gap Nature Center, while keeping an eye out for wildlife. This easy, loop-hike is on level terrain and perfect for all ages.

Directions

From the South:

1. Take PA-309 N to PA-873 N.
2. At the traffic light, continue straight on PA-873 N for an additional 3.6 miles.
3. In Slatington, turn left onto Rt 873 N/N Walnut Street and travel 2.0 miles.
4. Make a slight right to remain on PA-873 N and cross the bridge.
5. Turn left onto PA 248 W and drive 3.5 miles.
6. Take the exit toward PA-895 W/Bowmanstown and go 0.3 miles.
7. Turn left onto Bank St for 0.2 miles.
8. Turn left onto PA-895 W for 0.1 mile over the bridge.
9. Finally, turn left onto Riverview Road and travel 0.8 miles until you see the park on your left.

From the North:

1. From PA Turnpike I-476 S, take Exit 74 for Mahoning Valley/Lehighton and join US-209 South.
2. After 0.3 miles, make a slight left onto the ramp to Lehighton.
3. Continue for 0.2 miles and use the right lane to merge onto Lehighton.
4. Merge onto US-209 S/Interchange Road and travel 1.6 miles.
5. In Weissport, turn left onto PA-248 E and drive 2.9 miles.
6. Turn right onto PA-895 W/Lehigh St (following signs for Bowmanstown) for 0.2 mile over the bridge.
7. Turn left onto Riverview Road and drive 0.8 miles to the park on your left.
