Celebrate the Final Hike of the Year!

Close out the year with a scenic and invigorating hike at Wildlands Conservancy’s newly opened 187-acre sanctuary. Located across from Franko Farm Recreation Area, this beautiful preserve offers panoramic views of the Lehigh Valley and is a prime stopover for migrating birds.

What to Expect

• A gradual climb on a switchback trail to a power line overlook with stunning vistas.
• Trail terrain includes smooth treadways, rocky sections, and rooted paths.
• Total elevation gain of 393 feet.
• A descent through the forest, followed by an ascent up the south face of the power line.
• Unique rock formations along the route before looping back to the parking lot.

What to Bring

• Comfortable, sturdy hiking shoes
• Dress in layers for winter weather conditions
• Hiking poles strongly recommended (we will have some available to borrow)
• Leashed dogs are welcome
• Portable bathrooms available across the road at Franko Farm Recreation Area

Directions

• From Route 145/S. 4th Street in South Allentown, take Emmaus Avenue east for 1.2 miles to Honeysuckle Road.
• Turn right onto Honeysuckle Road and travel 0.6 miles.
• Take a slight left onto Black River Road and look immediately to your right for the parking lot.
• If full, a larger parking lot is just up the road beside the farmhouse on the left. Please park snugly.
