Join Us for a Wildflower Planting Adventure!

Description:

Step into nature's canvas and join us for a day of wildflower planting at the historic Archibald Johnston Mansion! This planting is a finishing touch to a stream restoration project that restored free flowing conditions to the Monocacy Creek.

As a volunteer, you'll play a vital role in enhancing biodiversity and preserving natural heritage. Guided by experienced environmentalists, you'll learn about the native wildflowers that call this area home and how each species contributes to the delicate balance of our ecosystem.

Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a nature enthusiast eager to make a difference, this event offers an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and make a tangible impact on the environment.

What to Expect:

  • Hands-On Planting: Get your hands dirty as you plant native wildflowers
  • Educational Sessions: Learn about the importance of wildflowers in supporting pollinators, improving soil health, and creating habitats for wildlife.
  • Scenic Views: Immerse yourself in the beauty of nature as you explore the picturesque Johnston Estate
  • Tools will be provided
What to Bring:

  • Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes suitable for outdoor activities.
  • Sunscreen, hats, and other sun protection.
  • Water bottles to stay hydrated throughout the day.
