Campfire Conversations: Ecological Restoration
Guided Hike & Fireside Conversation at Black River Sanctuary
Join us for the second installment of our Campfire Conversations series—an afternoon of hiking, storytelling, and fireside discussion about conservation in the Lehigh Valley.
We’ll begin with a moderate to challenging guided 1.5-mile hike to the top of Black River Sanctuary. The trail winds through rocky, rooty, and sometimes steep terrain, offering a moderate to challenging adventure and rewarding us with a scenic overlook of the surrounding valley.
At the summit, we’ll gather around a warm campfire with members of the Wildlands Conservancy team, including Kristy Fach, Director of Ecological Restoration, Kate Ebel, Senior Restoration Ecologist, and a special guest. Together, we’ll dive into the theme of ecological restoration and water conservation, exploring how staff, partners, and community members are working to protect the rivers, streams, and watersheds that sustain life in our region—and how you can be part of the effort.
This program is designed as a casual, welcoming space to ask questions, share your own stories, and connect with others who care about conservation and the natural world.
