Black River BioBlitz – International Day of Forests

Celebrate International Day of Forests with us during the Black River BioBlitz! Stop by anytime between 9 AM and 12 PM to explore at your own pace or join the guided tree identification hike with the group. If you choose the group hike, please check in promptly at 9 AM. Parking will be available at the Franco Farm parking lot—please follow signage upon arrival.

The guided hike will be approximately one hour and about 1.5 miles long, traveling over rocky, rooty, and sometimes steep terrain. This route may feel moderate to challenging for some participants.

Discover and document as many plants, trees, and signs of wildlife as you can find. Check in at our activity table to share your discoveries, participate in hands-on nature activities, and deepen your connection to the forest around you. Perfect for all ages and nature enthusiasts!

This program is free thanks to funding from PPL.
