Step into the quiet beauty of winter and discover the hidden world of wildlife on this guided Wildlife Snowshoe Walk. With snowshoes provided, participants of all experience levels can comfortably explore snowy trails while learning how animals survive, and even thrive, during the coldest months of the year.
This leisurely 1–2 mile hike takes you through winter forests and fields where we’ll search for wildlife tracks, scat, shelters, and feeding signs.
We’ll pause at key spots to interpret clues left in the snow, identify winter bird calls, explore the science of snowpack and animal movement, and learn how to “read” the forest the way wildlife does. This immersive outing combines outdoor adventure with hands-on ecological discovery, making it perfect for families, beginners, and anyone curious about winter nature.
Snowshoes are provided—just bring warm layers, sturdy boots, and your sense of wonder.
This program is free thanks to funding from Northampton County Parks.
