DESCRIPTION: Join us for an exciting day of environmental stewardship at Saucon Park as we work together to expand a riparian buffer along the Saucon Creek! This project is vital in protecting water quality, restoring wildlife habitat, and enhancing the natural beauty of the park.\n\nDuring the event, we will plant 300 trees of various sizes and install protection tubes to ensure their survival from herbivores. In addition to the new plantings, participants will also help maintain and care for the trees that were planted during last year’s buffer installation.\n\nWhat to Expect:\n\n\n\nTree Planting: Help plant 300 native trees of various sizes along the Saucon Creek, supporting local ecosystems and improving water quality.\nTree Protection: Install protection tubes around newly planted trees to safeguard them from herbivores and environmental stressors.\nMaintenance Tasks: Assist with the care and upkeep of the trees planted during last year’s riparian buffer project.\nCommunity Impact: Learn about the importance of riparian buffers in water conservation and habitat restoration while working alongside fellow volunteers and nature enthusiasts.\n\nWhat to Bring:\n\n\n\nWater: Please bring your own water bottle to stay energized throughout the day.\nRepellents and medications: Sunscreen, bug repellent, and any necessary allergy medications\nClothing: Wear long pants, closed-toed shoes, and attire suitable for outdoor work.\nLunch: Please pack a lunch and folding chair if you plan to remain all day.
