We’ll explore a mix of habitats with minimal elevation change along the Beach, Nature, and Deer Trails. Near the vernal pools on Deer Trail—an old logging road—there’s a chance we’ll spot signs of frogs, toads, or salamanders. Birdwatchers will also enjoy this trail as it offers great birding opportunities.\n\nAfter the hike, take some time to visit the Visitor Center, which features 2,400 square feet of interactive exhibits highlighting the park’s natural and cultural history.\n\nWhat to Bring:\n\n\n\nDress in layers appropriate for the weather\nComfortable walking shoes\nBinoculars for birdwatching (optional)\nBe prepared for possible wet spots on the trail\n\nFacilities: Restrooms are available at the Visitor Center.\n\nThis hike is part of the Get Out!
