Thanks to Wildlands’ expanded tree and shrub plantings and a newly installed pollinator garden replacing mowed grass, the park is thriving. Nestled between the Lehigh River and D&L Trail in East Penn Township. For this event, we’ll hike southbound along the D&L Trail and explore the area around the Three Ponds, part of the Lehigh Gap Nature Center, while keeping an eye out for wildlife. This easy, loop-hike is on level terrain and perfect for all ages.\n\n\nWhat to Bring & Additional Information\n\nAttire & Gear:\n\n\n\nComfortable walking shoes (suitable for wet conditions)\nWeather-appropriate clothing\nSunscreen, insect repellent, and your favorite sunhat\n\n\nDogs:\n\n\n\nPets are welcome on a leash.\n\n\nFacilities:\n\n\n\nBathrooms are available at Riverview Park.\n\n\nNearby Attractions:\n\n\n\nConsider visiting the nearby Riverwalck Restaurant before or after the hike.\n\n\n\nThis event is part of the Get Out for Wellness series, made possible by funding from Lehigh Valley Health Network.\n\n\nDirections\nFrom the South:\n\nTake PA-309 N to PA-873 N.\nAt the traffic light, continue straight on PA-873 N for an additional 3.6 miles.\nIn Slatington, turn left onto Rt 873 N/N Walnut Street and travel 2.0 miles.\nMake a slight right to remain on PA-873 N and cross the bridge.\nTurn left onto PA 248 W and drive 3.5 miles.\nTake the exit toward PA-895 W/Bowmanstown and go 0.3 miles.\nTurn left onto Bank St for 0.2 miles.\nTurn left onto PA-895 W for 0.1 mile over the bridge.\nFinally, turn left onto Riverview Road and travel 0.8 miles until you see the park on your left.\n\nFrom the North:\n\nFrom PA Turnpike I-476 S, take Exit 74 for Mahoning Valley/Lehighton and join US-209 South.\nAfter 0.3 miles, make a slight left onto the ramp to Lehighton.\nContinue for 0.2 miles and use the right lane to merge onto Lehighton.\nMerge onto US-209 S/Interchange Road and travel 1.6 miles.\nIn Weissport, turn left onto PA-248 E and drive 2.9 miles.\nTurn right onto PA-895 W/Lehigh St (following signs for Bowmanstown) for 0.2 mile over the bridge.\nTurn left onto Riverview Road and drive 0.8 miles to the park on your left.\n\nQuestions?
