Located across from Franko Farm Recreation Area, this beautiful preserve offers panoramic views of the Lehigh Valley and is a prime stopover for migrating birds.\n\n\nWhat to Expect\n\nA gradual climb on a switchback trail to a power line overlook with stunning vistas.\nTrail terrain includes smooth treadways, rocky sections, and rooted paths.\nTotal elevation gain of 393 feet.\nA descent through the forest, followed by an ascent up the south face of the power line.\nUnique rock formations along the route before looping back to the parking lot.\n\nWhat to Bring\n\nComfortable, sturdy hiking shoes\nDress in layers for winter weather conditions\nHiking poles strongly recommended (we will have some available to borrow)\nLeashed dogs are welcome\nPortable bathrooms available across the road at Franko Farm Recreation Area\n\nDirections\n\nFrom Route 145/S. 4th Street in South Allentown, take Emmaus Avenue east for 1.2 miles to Honeysuckle Road.\nTurn right onto Honeysuckle Road and travel 0.6 miles.\nTake a slight left onto Black River Road and look immediately to your right for the parking lot.\nIf full, a larger parking lot is just up the road beside the farmhouse on the left. Please park snugly.\n\nThis Get Out!
