DESCRIPTION: Due to exceptionally low water levels, we unfortunately made the decision to cancel this trip.&nbsp;\nBike & Boat: Forest Bathing for Wellness and Recovery\nIn collaboration with Stacey Vinci, LMFT\n\nReconnect with nature and yourself through a unique, full-sensory experience that blends movement, mindfulness, and the healing power of the outdoors.\n\nThis free wellness program invites participants on a 7-mile paddle and 7-mile bike ride along the Lehigh River and D&L Trail, guided by nature-based therapeutic practices including forest bathing, also known as Shinrin-yoku.\n\nLed in partnership with Stacey Vinci, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and certified forest bathing guide, this program is designed to support emotional, mental, and physical well-being.\n\n\nProgram Highlights:\n\nBegin at Sand Island in Bethlehem with a warm welcome and reflective forest bathing prompts\n\n\nPaddle 7 miles down the Lehigh River to Wildlands’ conserved Freeman’s Island\n\n\nPause for lunch (please bring your own) and a short guided forest bathing activity\n\n\nLearn about Wildlands’ conservation work on and around Freeman’s Island\n\n\nBike 7 miles back to Sand Island via the scenic D&L Trail\n\n\n\nWellness Benefits:\nBoating offers full-body physical activity that improves core strength and cardiovascular health. The repetitive, rhythmic nature of paddling can also help reduce stress and support emotional regulation, important components of recovery and overall wellness.\n\nForest bathing encourages you to slow down, observe with your senses, and reconnect to the present moment. Cycling builds endurance and boosts mental clarity while encouraging mindful movement through nature.\n\n\nWhat to Know:\n\nThis is a 7-mile paddle and a 7-mile bike ride. All gear is provided.\n\n\nParticipants must know how to ride a bike.\n\n\nBring: a packed lunch, water, sunscreen, appropriate layers, and a backpack or drybag for your belongings.\n\n\nTiming is dependent on river water levels. Low water may make for a more physically challenging paddle, please be prepared.\n\n\nRestrooms: Bathrooms are located about 0.3 miles from the starting location at Sand Island Park and again at the Route 33 take-out location.\ndata-start="2364" data-end="2367" /> Please note that there are no restrooms on Freeman’s Island.\n\nImportant Registration Note:\nYour registration matters!
