Monarch tagging is a citizen science tool that helps researchers track this migration, identify population trends, and better understand the challenges monarchs face along the way.\n\nJoin Wildlands Conservancy and the Penn State Master Gardeners for a hands-on monarch butterfly tagging event at the Saucon Valley Rail Trail Parking lot in Bethlehem! This immersive experience invites participants to contribute to real scientific research while learning how to support pollinator conservation.\n\nParticipants will:\n\n\n\nLearn how to safely capture and handle monarchs\n\n\nTag butterflies with official tracking stickers used in national migration studies\n\n\nExplore the importance of native plants and pollinator-friendly habitats\n\n\nContribute directly to citizen science efforts helping to conserve the monarch population\n\n\nTake a guided tour of a native garden created and maintained by the Penn State Master Gardeners\n\n\n\nWe'll meet at the Saucon Valley Rail Trail Parking lot in Bethlehem (Coordinates: 40.558372, -75.356339) and walk a short distance along the trail to explore the gardens and search for monarchs among wildflowers and milkweed patches.\nAll materials will be provided.
