Stream Team 2026: Saucon Park

Stream Team 2026: Saucon Park

If you’re ready to go with the flow, join us as we maintain vegetative areas along streams (riparian buffers) and help ensure the survival of young, native trees in the forest buffer. These vital areas improve water quality in local communities, reduce erosion and flooding concerns, and provide habitat for wildlife.

Park: 1001 Fire Ln, Hellertown, PA 18055

Volunteers will:

  • Maintain tubes placed over the trees to protect them from deer
  • Remove invasive vegetation
  • Straighten any leaning trees and re-stake if necessary

Volunteers must:

  • Be 16 years or older OR be accompanied by a parent/guardian if under 16. Volunteers under 16 will not be permitted to remain onsite without a chaperone.
  • Be able to work outside for the duration of the shift, on uneven ground
  • Wear safe footwear and clothing that can get dirty. Long-legged pants and boots are recommended- shorts, skirts, and open-toed, or slip-on shoes aren't suitable.

Working Conditions:

  • Participants should be prepared for anticipated weather conditions. Stream Team events will run rain or shine except for severe weather conditions.
  • Gloves, tools, water, and snacks will be provided, but volunteers are welcome to bring their own.
  • Participants should bring bug spray, sunscreen, and hats as desired to protect from the elements.
  • Some locations will have restroom facilities, though others will not, so participants should plan accordingly.
  • Sites may have tall vegetation and muddy conditions.
  • Stinging insects may be present, please bring allergy medications if this is a concern.
